Pete Read is a market intelligence practitioner and business consultant specializing in China, Asia and other emerging markets, who has led hundreds of assignments for many of the world’s most successful healthcare, technology and industrial companies.
His current research focus is on hospital technologies and medical devices in emerging markets, especially hospital information management, connected health, hospital-to-home, diagnostic imaging, patient monitoring, orthopaedics and ophthalmology.
Having advised many Western companies looking at opportunities in China since the 1990s, and major Chinese corporations as they expand internationally, Pete has first-hand experience of both sides of the emerging markets phenomenon.
He has helped Western healthcare companies define market entry strategies in Asia, worked with clients to help them compete in China’s pharma and medical equipment sectors, and advised Chinese firms on global best practices in product development, manufacturing strategy and distribution.
